Ecosystem & Earth Systems Ecology

road_ws.jpgEcosystems & Earth Systems Ecology research at OSU addresses fundamental conceptual issues regarding the structure and dynamics of terrestrial and marine systems.  Research efforts cross multiple scales of organization and integration and include studies on linkages between community ecology and ecosystem process, microbial and plant feedbacks on biogeochemical cycles, and responses of ecosystems to climate change.  Opportunities for research across Pacific Northwest biomes are particularly strong and include long-term research programs such as the H.J. Andrews Experimental Forest Long-Term Ecological Research site, and the Partnership for the Interdisciplinary Studies of Coastal Oceans.  Ecosystem and Earth Systems Ecology draws upon faculty from diverse disciplines, with contributions from the Colleges of Science, Forest Science, Agricultural Sciences, and Oceanic and Atmospheric Science.  Click on the names below to learn more about the activities of each faculty member in Ecosystem & Earth Systems Ecology.
