Ecosystems & Earth Systems Ecology research at OSU addresses fundamental conceptual issues regarding the structure and dynamics of terrestrial and marine systems.  Research efforts cross multiple scales of organization and integration and include studies on linkages between community ecology and ecosystem process, microbial and plant feedbacks on biogeochemical cycles, and responses of ecosystems to climate change.  Opportunities for research across Pacific Northwest biomes are particularly strong and include long-term research programs such as the H.J.
