Marine & Coastal Ecology

pisaster_intertidal_ws.jpgOSU offers a wide range of programs in Marine Ecology, including research in Rocky Intertidal Ecology, Salt Marsh Ecology, Coral Reef Fish Ecology, Coastal Dune Ecology, and GIS.  Via collaborations both among the OSU Ecology faculty and with colleagues from other campus units, institutions and countries, a wide range of central ecological conceptual issues and habitat specific issues are addressed, including the Grouper_ws.jpgfactors maintaining biodiversity, the consequences of species invasions, species interactions and community regulation, dispersal and supply-side ecology, the role of ecological subsidies in maintaining the structure of communities and ecosystems, the role of disturbance, the impacts of global climate change, and marine reserves and management of coastal populations.  Click on the names below to learn more about the activities of each faculty member in Marine Ecology.
