This field focuses on the evolution of DNA, RNA, proteins and other macromolecules and the processes that govern that evolution. Molecules of special interest in the College of Science include hormones and their receptors (Moore), the proteinaceous pheromones of salamanders (Arnold), and the genomes of ocean bacteria (Giovannoni).
