Systematics

western_racer_ws.jpgThe phylogenetic history of organisms is a vital element in understanding their evolutionary biology. Systematics is the discipline that takes as its aim the unraveling of phylogenetic history. Systematic work in the College of Science is focused on several groups: vascular plants (Liston), fungi (Spatafora), snakes and salamanders (Arnold), fish and frogs (Blouin) and insects (Brower and Judd).
